Mr Elangovan has been in the capital New Delhi for couple of days to meet the party president Sonia Gandhi to clear the air about the case and his comments.
Tamil Nadu Congress chief E.V.K.S. Elangovan has received a notice from National Commission for Women (NCW) following a police complaint filed against him by a former staff at TNCC office in Chennai alleging harassment.
A Congress source says that “it would appear that Mr Elangovan’s position has now become untenable.” He also made some fourth grade comments on Prime Minister meeting with Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa.
The AIADMK general secretary and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu state Jayalalithaa appealed to party leaders to stop the protest against Mr Elangovan for his “uncivilized” and “derogatory” remarks over Jayalalithaa luncheon meeting with PM.

His meeting with party president is to discuss about his comments on PM meeting with Jayalalithaa and also the NCW case. The NCW chair person Lalita Kumaramangalam had confirmed the notice had been send to Elangovan and also gave him five days to respond.
Accordinh to reports, a case was registered in Chennai against Mr. Elangovan and Narayanan both of whom managed the dealing of the TNCC Trust by Ms. Valarmathi alleging that she had been asked to collect (illegally) Rs. 10 lakh from 35 of the 120 shops run on the Trust’s land.
