Bijoy Krishna Handique, member of the Indian National Congress who represents Jorhat constituency of Assam was deceased yesterday.
Our respected President condoled the passing away of Former Union Minister, B K Handique. The condolence message to Swarup Rani Handique – wife of B K Handique is “I am sad to learn about the passing away of Bijoy Krishna Handique, a friend and colleague of long years.”
Handique being the senior Member of Parliament from the North Eastern Region represented Jorha Lok Sabha , Assam for six consecutive terms. He also held the Protfolios of Union Minister of State for Defence, Mines, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Parliamentary Affairs during the UPA government.
President Mukherjee also said “Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to the rest of your family members. I pray to the Almighty to give you and other members of the family strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss”.
