Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday thanked Modi’s government and Indian Army and Centre for securing Munak canal in Haryana, which was under the siege of the Jat agitators demanding reservation.
Kejriwal tweeted that the army had regained control from protesters of the gates of the Munak canal to the north of Delhi. He said he was assessing how long it would take for water to reach the city.
With water supply to the national capital under threat amid the ongoing Jat agitation for quota, Kejriwal had appealed to the Centre with 'folded hands' to immediately intervene and resume water supply from Munak Canal started in Haryana.

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Sunday made 140 water filling points functional to feed tankers which would be sent across the city.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that with water supply badly being badly hit, Delhites would be facing tough days in the coming future.
Later in the day, the Supreme Court would be hearing Delhi government's petition seeking Centre's intervention for the uninterrupted supply of water.
The areas affected due to the closure of plants are West Delhi, North-West, Central, South and part of North Delhi. "Against the total production of 820 Million Gallons per day (MGD) of potable water, only 240 MGD is being produced, because of the disruption of the supply source from Haryana. DJB's tanker fleet has been fully redirected to the water deficient areas.
The situation at Wazirabad is being constantly monitored. In this emergent situation, the people of Delhi are requested to use water with the utmost care," a statement by the Delhi Jal Board said.
