The personal assistant (PA) of a Karnataka minister and two other people were arrested on Monday for leaking of the question paper for the pre-university course (PUC) chemistry re-exam on March 31, that led to its cancellation and re-scheduling to April 12.
CID arrests Minister’s PA, two others Obalaraju and his co-brother, Rudrappa, a PWD employee, now arrested, have children studying in II pre-university for whom they bought the question paper from Manjunath, a physical education teacher.
However, those arrested now are not the primary source of leak but form the tertiary links of one of the chains through which the question paper proliferated across the State, Sonia Narang, DIG (CID), said. Obalaraju, personal assistant of Minister of State for Medical Education Sharanprakash R. Patil, and two others were arrested for buying and selling the leaked pre-university chemistry question paper that the students answered on March 21, 2016.
“Our investigation led to the arrest of Oblaraju, PA to medical education minister Sharan Prakash Patil, Rudrappa, a PWD officer, and Manjunath, a teacher in a city private college,” state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy inspector-general Sonia Narang told reporters here.
