Now, you have a total idea of what that offer is? Yes, according to the reports, if government will accept the recommendations of the expert panel, then there will be a huge 400% hike in their current salary.

In July, the AAP party legislatures had demanded for their hike in salary, saying that their current salary is not enough to run their families and offices.

The three-member committee chaired by the former secretary General of Lok Sabha PDT Achary submitted its report to Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel. This decision favored the four hundred percentage hike in the basic salary of MLAs from Rs 12,000 to Rs 50,000 per month.

"The committee has recommended increasing the existing salary of MLAs from Rs 12,000 per month to Rs 50,000 per month. Also, total salary and allowances of MLAs have been recommended to be enhanced from the present Rs 88,000 per month to Rs 2.10 lakh per month. The recommendations were made considering Constitutional provisions and their job profile,” Achary told reporters.

Committee also recommended in hiking constituency allowance from 18,000 to 50,000. Also recommended for the allowance like Secretarial, Research and Office Assistance to increase up to 70,000 from 30,000.

Office rental and related issues allowances was recommended to 25,000. The list of their recommendations also includes Communication allowance to 10,000, conveyance allowance as 30,000, daily allowance for every sitting of the house or its committees to 2,000 from 1,000, for office furnishing to 1 lakh, equipment purchasing to 60,000, and vehicle loan to 12 lakh from 4 lakh.

Pension hike from 7,500 to 15,000 per month. Travel allowance to 3 lakh per annum. 10 per cent hike in basic salary 5,000/month for every year.

After speaker, the bill will be handed over to Assembly’s committee of Salary and Allowances for consideration. Thereafter, the government will consider it and if accepted they will come up with issuing the hike.
