According to the new rule introduced by the leading government BJP every police station should file their FIRs online and the person who has registered the complaint will receive a copy of complaint and SMS through Whatsapp.
Till date no state has followed the process. But, at the end of the winter session the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fednavis has made it so straight that every police station should file FIR through online and it will be followed from Jan 1, 2016.
"Every police station will be online, paperless and every police station should register FIR electronically, as per the guidelines of the central government. Not a single state has done it. BJP government has initiated the process and completed the project. Every police station has the provision of registering online FIR, though they first registered manually and later put online because of lack of experience. The complainant will receive a SMS and a copy of FIR through Whatsapp, from January 1. There will be surprise check and the government will take a note of police station who will not go for online," said Fadnavis.
Fadnavis also announced that permissions for Ganesh mandap’s at the time of Ganesh Chaturthi will also be issued through online only.
