Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs decided to meet today to discuss some important pending issues including the GST bill.
Parliamentary affairs minister M Venkaiah Niadu has convened the meeting, for which the NDA floor leaders from both the houses are likely to attend the meeting. As the land ordinance bill which was issued on last month will expire this August 31, this meeting is very important.
If the government wants to re-issue for the fourth time to maintain continuity, one of the houses will have to be prorogued to keep the ordinance alive.
The total monsoon session was ended with protests against Sushma Swaraj, so decide to make some decision on GST bill.
Sushma Swaraj said that she did not supported Lalit Modi but his ailing wife who was to undergo a medical treatment for cancer in Portugal. She also said that, her husband Swaraj Kaushal was a lawyer for Lalit Modi in his passport case and our family did not take a single rupee.
Denying any quid pro quo on the Lalit Modi issue, she said the Congress vice president should reflect on his family's history."Rahul should ask, why they did the quid pro quo" about Quattrocchi and Anderson.
