BJP is the first main party to announce the list of candidates for elections to the 243 member assembly elections. Bihar elections are going to start from October 12 to which the Bharathiya Janata Party on Tuesday declared the candidates list.

In a meeting of the BJP’s Central Election committee (CEC) along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired by the party president Amit Shah the decision has been taken.

"We have tried to give representation to all communities." Said the Senior BJP leader and Union Minister JP Nadda, he also said that the subsequent list will have Muslim.

BJP targeted on the backward sections and women mostly, the list includes 60 percent stake to SC and backward caste, which targets on the RJD-JDU. The list consists of five Yadavs and five others belong to SC&ST, 50% of the candidates are women and youth.

The list included names of 19 candidates for the first phase and 15 for the second phase and nine others will defeat in the next poll. The first two phases have 49 and 32 constituencies going to polls and many of them will be contested by the party's allies, LJP, RLSP and HAM.
