CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Friday described PM Modi as “not a good prime minister”, and said he cannot be compared with Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. Kejriwal who is in a bitter standoff with the Centre, hit out at PM Modi, accusing him of being “revengeful” towards his government and the people of Delhi after BJP’s staggering defeat in Delhi polls. He also attacked Delhi’s LG Najeeb Jung, calling him as BJP’s “polling agent” who had turned his official residence into “BJP headquarters”. Slamming Jung, Kejriwal said he does not give time even to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia or other Delhi ministers for a meeting or take his calls. “But if the ‘chowkidar’ (watchman) of (BJP President) Amit Shah calls him (LG), he will crawl and go.” Kejriwal told in an interview that Modi was using Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung to create obstacles for his Aam Aadmi Party government to avenge the Bharatiya Janata Party’s rout in the February elections in Delhi. “He (Modi) is taking revenge against the people and the Aam Aadmi Party because of the loss (in Delhi)… He cannot be a good prime minister,” Kejriwal said. Suggesting that he was a mass leader, Kejriwal said the BJP leadership must realize that he was not a Rahul Gandhi. “Narendra Modi ji must realise that I am not Rahul Gandhi,” he said. Asked what he meant by that, Kejriwal smiled and said after a pause: “The message I wanted to convey has been conveyed.” Alleging Modi was after him and didn’t want him to succeed, he said the prime minister and the BJP feared that AAP could replicate its Delhi success in other states too. The chief minister also made light of reports that the central government could stop the salaries of Delhi government officials. “Let them do it if they can,” he said. He thanked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for making available to Delhi five policemen from that state. He, however, insisted that there was no “political back channel” talks with Kumar or even West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
