Hiring of five personnel of Bihar Police in Anti Corruption Branch of Delhi government have trigger a fresh clash between the Kejriwal government and the LG which are already locked in a bitter turf war. According to reports, five personnel of Bihar Police have joined the Anti Corruption Branch of Delhi government. Three inspectors and two Sub Inspectors of the Bihar Police have joined ACB which is facing manpower crunch. A request in this regard was sent by Delhi government, following which the five officers were dispatched, they added. However, issuing a clarification from Raj Niwas, LG’s office stated, “ACB Delhi being a police station functions under authority, control & supervision of LG, a position clarified by the MHA. The office of Lt. Governor has so far not received any proposal for the deputation of such personnel from outside Delhi police.” “The matter will be duly examined as and when the LG receives formal proposal from the Vigilance department of Delhi government,” Raj Niwas said. Recently, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had reached out to non-BJP chief ministers to mount political pressure on Modi government even as the matter over ACB's jurisdiction have reached the Supreme Court. Kejriwal had conveyed to chief ministers of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal among others that the Centre's notification, throwing its weight behind Lt Governor Najeeb Jung, was "detrimental" to India's federal structure and it may happen to their states as well.
