The Assam State Congress has suspended four MLAs for anti party activities said the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee general security Diganta Choudhary.
The four MLAs are Jayanta Mallah Baruah (Nalbari), Pallab Lochan Das (Behali), Pijush Hazarika (Raha) and Pradan Baruah (Jonai) had suspended because of the anti party talks in the presence of media pledging their support for former and ex-congress minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who has recently joined BJP.
Bolin Chetia (Sadiya), Rajen Borthakur (Tezpur), Kripanath Mallah (Ratabari), Abe Taher Bepari (Golakganj) and Binanda Saikia (Sipajhar) these MLAs have been served show cause notices and asked to explain their action within 15 days for joining BJP supporters at the airport to welcome Sarma.
Choudhary said that, Action was taken against the nine Congress MLAs for their anti-party activities of welcoming their former party colleague and ex-minister Himanta Sarma at the Guwahati airport when he was returning to the city from Delhi to join the BJP.
