Singapore Government has appointed 79 year old Gopinath Pillai, its senior policy strategist and chairman of the Institute of South Asian Studies as its special envoy to Andhra Pradesh to speedup the construction of the capital city. The Singapore's ambassador at large was introduced to the media by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the visiting Singapore Law Minister Shanmugham at the Secretariat here on Thursday. Gopinath Pillai told reporters that the draft plan of the first phase of the capital city would be ready by June. Gopinath Pillai will represent the voice of the Singapore Government in the execution of the capital city project while the AP Government and joint working group of Singapore will look after the execution.
