Train Accident at Anantapur

Bangalore -Nanded express collided with a lorry in early hours of Monday at Anantapur leaving 6 people dead and around 25 people were injured.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed the district collector to inquire about the incident and also asked them to provide rescue operations at the accident.

Five people including Karnataka legislator Venkatesh Naik were killed. Naidu also ordered the Civil supplies Minister P. Sunitha and IT Minister Palee Raghunatha Reddy to arrange RTC buses from Puttaparthi and Penukonda to enable the passengers to reach their destinations.

After knowing about the incident, Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu expressed his condolences, “immediate medical relief has been sent and injured are being treated. Unfortunate accident. Loaded truck hit train. Condolences to families. Immediate medical relief sent. Injured treated. Ordered GM etc to rush.”
