A Russian billionaire has spent a fortune on his son's wedding including hiring Jennifer Lopez to perform and splashing half-a-million dollars on the bride’s dress.
Russian oil tycoon Mikhail Gutseriev did not cut any corners while planning his 28-year-old son Said’s Moscow wedding to Khadija Uzakov, a 20-year-old dentistry student, after four years together.
Guest were greeted and transported by luxury cars and masses of flowers adorned the walls and arches inside.
Khadija wore an Elie Saab gown which Instagram user and wedding blogger “Wedding word” said was "studded with shimmering crystals and fresh water pearls" and cost $480,000.
The dress, imported from Paris, weighed 11.5kg and the bride needed help from several people to pull her long train up the stairs, the Daily Mail reports.
To finish the look, she wore a white gold with a diamond tiara said to be worth $57,000, and a large diamond pendant around her neck.
No cost was spared for the entertainment, with Jennifer Lopez, Sting and Enrique Iglesias putting on the show for the evening.
The performers would not have come cheap, as it was reported Jennifer Lopez was paid over $1 million to perform for the Turkmenistan president in 2013.
The pop star reportedly changed outfits at least three times and performed On the Floor, Dance Again and Get Right.
J-Lo must have been paid lavishly as she treated herself to a shopping spree in Moscow. One store closed its doors for a couple of hours to let the diva shop privately, the Daily Mail reports.
The 600 guests dined on the finest European cuisine and sushi with a lush eight-tier cake.
The cake was decorated elegantly with white icing and pink floral garlands, topped with the crescent and star to represent the couple’s Muslim faith.
Celebrating the couple's union, to end the evening a fireworks display lit up the night sky.
According to Forbes magazine, Mikhail Gutseriev is worth $8.13 billion.
