Beef Festival at OU, Students Arrested

Students of Osmania University who are very active in protesting things took a step to go against rule of court order and organized Beef festival in the campus itself.

While sixteen students were detained from the College and the reason behind the event Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Raja Singh has been taken into custody.

"We will stop the beef festival. It is against our culture. Law and order will not be disturbed. The Police Commissioner has said that they will arrest the people who will organise this festival. This is a dirty political game by government to play with hindu sentiments," Raja Singh said.  

A Curfew like situation has happened in the university place and meanwhile protests against the students were started by ABVP by starting pork festival.

According to some Media reports, “on Tuesday many Osmania students reportedly had beef biryani and kebabs while being watched by policemen, allegedly as a show of defiance. A court has also suspended the festivals saying they are illegal and violate various animal rights laws.”

“A petition had said that during similar beef festivals organized by students in 2011, 2012 and 2014, there had been clashes,” reads the statement by a famous daily.
