Seems like Pooja Hegde’s wish of getting back to Tollywood will be a reality soon. The ‘Oka Laila Kosam’ actress, who was the second runner-up at the Miss Universe India 2010 competition, we hear, is finalised to play Allu Arjun’s romantic interest in director Harish Shankar’s yet-untitled next.
A source close to the development says, “Pooja has been yearning to do her second Tollywood film since long but since she was bound by the contract of Hindi film ‘Mohenjo Daro’, which desisted her signing any new films until the epic drama releases, she had to wait.
She had to let go interesting offers alongside Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Ravi Teja in the interim. She was even on the wish list of Vijay Kumar Konda, who introduced her to Tollywood, for his next. And now with ‘Mohenjo Daro’ slated to open in cinemas in mid-August, she has started to look for other films and the first subject that was pitched to her during this period was Allu Arjun’s next.”
The source adds, “She is a big fan of Allu Arjun and with names like Dil Raju and Harish Shankar associated with the project, besides her strong role, she jumped on board. She is likely to join the sets in September.”
