Emmy Awards, one of the most prestigious awards which recognize excellence in the television industry has completed its 67th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 20th at the Microsoft Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles, California.
This time HBO (Home Box Office) has bagged many awards for their contribution towards entertainment. Here is the list of the categories and the series in which HBO stood in first place.
Veep in HBO won the award for Outstanding Comedy Series, which finally broke the record of Sitcom powerhouse “Modern Family” who won the award for past five years. Veep Episode: Election Night which was written by Simon Blackwell, Armando Lannucci and Tony Roche won the award for outstanding writing for a comedy series.
In Outstanding Drama Series, Game of Thrones occupied the throne beating the four time winner “Mad Men”. Outstanding writing for a Drama series, Game of Throne Episode: Mother’s Mercy which was written by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss received the award. Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, Game of Thrones (Episode: "Mother’s Mercy"), Directed by David Nutter won the Emmy award.
Olive Kitteridge which is the 25 years old miniseries of HBO stood first in Outstanding Limited Series Category and also for Outstanding Writing for a limited Series, Movie or Dramatic Special the writer Jane Anderson won the award. Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special Lisa Cholodenko received the award for the series Olive Kitteridge.
A total of 14 awards were bagged by the HBO in various categories out of which some of them were listed above.
