Just a couple of days prior to the release of the film, the makers of Suriya's Masss faced a huge shock in the Middle Eastern country of Kuwait. Apparently, the Kuwait government has banned the release of Masss because the film has a hero who has super powers. Being a staunch Islamic country, Kuwait follows its religious beliefs seriously and believes that no man except god can have super powers. This is not the first time that the Kuwait government banned an Indian film. Earlier, Kuwait also banned films like Vishwaroopam fearing religious controversies. Most Tamil films earn huge collections in Kuwait and other Middle Eastern countries thanks to a large number of Tamil migrants who work in various gulf countries. With this ban, Masss is bound to lose a large chunk of collections and this also raises the concern of creative freedom of expression of filmmakers.
