Jack of many trades, Karan Johar has had his stint before the camera in a brief role in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Now, he’s playing a bad guy in Bombay Velvet and wants to consider it his acting debut. Speaking at the launch of his jewellery brand, Karan Johar told a news channel that he would rather erase the DDLJ experience from the public’s collective memory because he wants to run for the best debut award for his performance in ‘Bombay Velvet’. Karan is presently 43, and it would be quite interesting so see a man that age bag the debut actor award. But of course, what Karan says is in light vein only. In ‘Bombay Velvet’, Karan Johar plays Kaizad Khambatta a manipulative big shot who takes Ranbir Kapoor’s character Johnny Balraj under his wings. “It was great to be directed by Anurag. Most of my scenes are with Ranbir ,” Karan Johar has said earlier. In the movie Karan is directed by Anurag Kashyap, his one-time foe turned friend. KJo has already won praise for his look in the trailer. His character is full of small little secretive gestures that Karan seems to have captured well.
