Prem Chopra familiar with his villain characters has stepped a day forward and celebrating his 80th Birthday today (23 September). With the reason of his B-day let us discuss some of the important information regarding his career.
Prem has born into a Punjabi Hindu family in Lahore. The Punjab Puttar used to look after the circulation of News paper in Bengal, Orissa and Bihar post entering into the film industry. Having much interest in acting, apart from spending 20 days in a month on the circulation was reduced to 12 days, so that he would spend rest of the time in studio.
Chopra debuted in the film industry with the Punjabi film, which won a National Award. Chopra’s first Hindi film was Shaheed and it is also the first film in which he was portrayed as a soft person. Hindi films such as Woh Kaun Thi, Shaheed, Main Shaadi Karne Chala and Teesri Manzil are the early films of the 80-year-old.
Chopra has won the most reputable “Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award” in 1998 for his excellent talent in acting. Some of his awards include, "Lions Club Award", "Ashoka Award", "Ashirwad Award" and the "Punjabi Kala Sangam Award.
He has 50 years of experience in movie industry, in this span he was appeared in more than 320 films. He actually wanted to step In the industry as a hero but luck favored him as a villain.
