Filmmakers Debate for Piracy Eradication

In the Intonation Film Festival going on in Kerala made a debate on eradicating piracy of the movies. This panel was headed by the filmmaker Jabbar patel and Shaji N Karun.

This debate was mainly on the two issues that is: from the point of view of the artist, industry and the audience for pirated works.

Later the debate was concluded to take a right action and to bring some special laws to eradicate piracy.

"Very few industry people take this issue seriously; we are not just talking about piracy of images. Its life piracy,” said Jabbar Patel.

"Today when people tell me, 'we don't get to see your movies anywhere'. I tell them Go on YouTube and you can watch it in HD", said Patel.

"Piracy threatens both local industry and careers in film. These need to be protected. Copyright must not be a right to copy,” said Lohitha Sujith a representative from Motion Pictures.

The Argentinean Producer said, "The problem is very complex since no one can control the internet. So it's a war that is already lost before it has started."
